Far far across the pond lives a wonderful girl named Suzy. Suzy is an extremely talented photographer who’s work I greatly admire. She is also a talented singer & Ukulele player. She & her mother came to spend a week in Orlando going to the parks. While there I met up with them on many occasions. One of these occasions we went to Stardust Coffee (an establishment mentioned in the last post) and played around on Tumblr for a bit before grabbing my tiny guitar and singing a song. So while sitting in the crowded Stardust Coffee we recorded these (two of these were recorded in the parking lot of a Publix) Enjoy.

Living in Winter Park (Orlando) Florida there are a few establishments that one might frequent. One of my favorites is Stardust Coffee. Stardust is a very eclectic and interesting place to go. The walls covered in artwork, every inch revealing some secret forgotten note, letter, or photograph. One of the rooms at Stardust houses a small stage only six or seven feet across on top of which is an upright piano missing all the tops of the black keys, surrounded by walls decorated by long red streamers hanging from the ceiling. Another equally interesting room (largest of the three) has a Bar,Photobooth, larger stage, wall of DVD’s, and small nook-like areas where people can sit and do work.
While seeing my friends band play at Will’s Pub downtown I took some Polaroids on my Hasselblad of a few friends. The set-up for these shots was to place the subject directly under a lamp hanging over one of the pool tables by having them lean over it. Enjoy.
Recently I photographed a 25th anniversary party for some friends of mine. My friend Em (see previous post) was kind enough to acompany me. I photographed the entire even on film with my Hasselblad 500C/M. This was a chalenge because although I’ve used my Hasselblad in shoots before I’ve never used it to photograph an event. I was surprised to find out how accurate my ambient light meter/nob was. Here are a few of my favorite photographs from the afternoon. (Shot on Portra 400NC)
I have been friends with Emily for many years now. She is one of the people who when I move away I will sorely miss.. Her smile is one that brightens my day on the occasions that I find her across the table from me. Good luck with the future Em 🙂 and keep an eye on my sister while I’m gone!! Here are a few pics I took of her a week or two ago.
